J525 tubing is made mainly of carbon steel, with the chemical composition of carbon (0.18% max), manganese (0.60-0.90%), phosphorus (0.035% max), sulfur (0.035% max), and iron as base material. Mechanical properties of J525 tubing consist of tensile strength between 45,000 and 60,000 psi (310-414 MPa) and a yield strength of about 30,000 psi (207 MPa). It also has very good cold working properties, high strength, and pressure resistance, which makes it a good material for hydraulic, automotive, and other demanding industrial uses.
