S500MC steel plates and sheets are low-alloy, high-strength steels for structural and cold-forming use. They contain carbon (≤0.12%), manganese (≤2.10%), silicon (≤0.60%), phosphorus (≤0.025%), sulfur (≤0.015%), and micro-alloying elements such as niobium, titanium, and vanadium for added strength. S500MC is mechanically characterized by a minimum yield strength of 500 MPa, high toughness, and impact resistance. It possesses a tensile strength of 550–700 MPa with excellent weldability and formability.
